Grateful for Bangkok

I recently went on a girls' trip to Bangkok, and wow—it's so true what people say: traveling with friends hits different. It’s just more fun, plain and simple. We got to wander around, snack on all kinds of street food (the kind my parents would 100% avoid), and not once did we talk about cholesterol or fatty liver. No one complained about back pain from sitting in traffic too long either. Just good vibes, good food, and great company.

Bangkok has always had a special place in my heart. The first time I visited was two years ago, and it totally changed the game for me. I wasn’t always the biggest fan of Thai food back home, but Thai food in Thailand? Damn—it’s on a whole different level. I get it now why people say it’s one of the best cuisines in the world.

Well, without further ado, let me share some of the best restaurants I tried during this trip to Bangkok

1. Jeh O Chula

Can you believe this was my first time trying Jeh O after four trips to Bangkok? I honestly thought it might be overhyped—but turns out, it’s actually really good! I’d totally recommend checking it out. Just a heads-up though: be prepared to wait at least an hour.

2. Kway Chap Mr Joe

Another spot that’s often labeled as overhyped—but honestly, it lives up to it. If you’re into bold, peppery soups, this one's for you. The crispy pork is absolutely heavenly, and the soup itself is pure comfort in a bowl.

3. Kinnaree Restaurant

I took my friends here for my birthday dinner, and it was such a great pick. It’s kind of a hidden gem I found on TikTok—not very popular among Indonesians yet, but totally worth a visit. The food is amazing and perfect for a cozy, family-style meal. Plus, the place is super Instagrammable—it even looks like a charming little house!

Alright peeps, writing again soon! bye.
